The pull towards creativity and artistic expression has been a constant in Ellen’s life. Though the power of this pull was momentarily stifled as she attained her Bachelors from the University of Colorado, there was always an inevitable yearning for a career in the beauty industry. Whether it was taking the lead on her friend groups’ hair and makeup before school dances, or becoming a “regular” at the local Sally Beauty Supply for one (or two) too many self-experimentation projects, her education began well before cosmetology school. After moving back to Denver from Arizona, she found Emily through a Google search of “best ombre hair color in Denver” (true story, thanks Google) and instantly became a die-hard Emily fan/client, and it began from there. Following some world travels, a couple moves and some intense self-exploration, Ellen embraced her nagging inner voice and jumped in with both feet.
Ellen dove into her education at the Aveda Institute of Denver, eager to learn everything Aveda had to offer, while also learning the ins and outs of salon life working at the front desk of Cedar. She thrives in an environment where she gets to make others happy and feel great about themselves, and found her passion in the limitless possibilities of blonding and balayage.
When not at the salon, Ellen can be found with dirt up to her elbows in her garden or tending her cacti collection. She loves spending her free time camping with her boyfriend and their dog, or snuggling up on the couch with their couch potato of a cat.
